A day late but it’s all good! This journal talks about the first meeting of the Emmett Yo-Yo Club; YoYoTV.net, a project of mine to pull all the yo-yo videos around the web into one place; and my interview on the RenegadeTeens radio show on BlogTalkRadio. It also briefly mentions my new client CoachAmerica and some of what I’m doing for them.
If you have any questions or comments I’m always glad to here them!
Hey Everyone! My dad asked me to show him how to add a video from Youtube to Facebook today and it got me thinking about how many other people may not know how to do this. SO!! I recorded a quick how-to for your viewing pleasure. If you liked this video and it helped you please leave a comment to let me know and if you know someone who might benefit from seeing this video please share it with your friends! Also, if you need help with something on Facebook leave me a question in the comments or send me one as a private message and I’ll do my best to record an answer for you.
Hey everyone this is the journal for October 30th, 2009. Overview of the week, talks about the yo-yo club(s) I’m working on, a machinist I’m hoping to meet with about my Yo-Yo Design, and a client I’m working with to advance their social media presence. Had a good week 🙂 let me know if you have any questions or comments below in the comment section! Hope you have a great Halloween!
(Please watch the video in a full screen and HD, It’s easier to see!)
Do you play games on Facebook? If you do you may be spamming your friends, co-workers, and relatives. Take a quick moment to fix your favorite game’s settings before all your friends block or delete you, see the video for how. Please comment on the video and let me know what your thoughts are and if you have any questions. Stick around for a few more simple how-to video tips!
Review of the “week”; did a few yo-yo shows, the Emmett Yo-Yo Club will have its first meeting on November the 7th from 1pm – 2pm. I’ll be uploading videos on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Monday will be how-to videos, Wednesday will be book review videos, and Friday will be these journals.
Pretty much it this time around, if you have and questions or comments let me know.
Hey everyone, Just wanted to show off the new site look and let you know about the yo-yo competition I went to last Saturday, August 29, 2009. It was call the Western Idaho State Fair Yo-Yo Contest, and was organized the Dave Bazan of the Meridian Yo-Yo Club. It was really fun, I got to judge the Sports Ladder Division (which is a list of tricks the competitors complete, whoever goes the furthest without messing up wins) and I competed in the Freestyle Division (which is yo-yoing choreographed to music) which for the first time ever allowed me to WIN 1ST PLACE! (Obviously I’m ecstatic about it!) 🙂 Just wanted to share that with you!
I’m currently in the process of looking for a new, easily modifiable design for my website/blog. The look of this one is too in the box for me, and doesn’t show anything of me. So I’m trying to find one with a big enough header so that I can put a picture of myself there. I’m also trying to organize this site better. And, as always, I’m attempting to post more often! Haha!
If you know any good places to find free WordPress themes that look good please let me know in the comments 🙂 Thanks!
Still working on keeping this blog of mine updated. I’ve decided to look at it more as an online journal of sorts relating mostly to my professional side. We’ll see how that goes! Haha!
Anyways, project cropping up: I’m going to be finding a venue for the Emmett Yo-Yo Club to meet at weekly (probably on Saturdays from 1-2) I’m looking at and hoping for the Gem County Recreation District in downtown Emmett since it would be easy for people to find. If I actually go forward with the club I’ll need to either bring a stock of my own yo-yos or contact some of the online stores that indicated they help new clubs and get their yo-yo club ‘care package’.
Additional Project: Going to be working on creating a county/city bonfire, would have music and other entertainment, a fire of course, and vendors (food, drink, and other). The goal is to provide a safe fun and consistent place for teens-young adults to hang out, enjoy music, the first, and good food. Other benefits are that by having this event small businesses from Emmett would be allowed booth space. Not sure yet if this is something to be charged for but the background goal is to provide a venue for these small businesses (like mine and a few owned by friends in the community) to market their products.
Finally before I go to bed, the last project: I need to put together a catalog of all the DTIndustries clothing designs, develop wholesale options, and services and package everything together in these catalogs. The next phase is to get a few stores to carry my shirts. I’ll start with the catalog and go from there. 🙂
That’s all for now, I’m sure there’s more but I need to get to sleep, my old boss asked me to come in for a day so I’m gonna be helping out at Copy+ in Emmett tomorrow.
I’m surely a slacker! I’ve essentially disappeared from this blog for the past month. Don’t get me wrong themikemonty.com, I do love you, I just have to make money and keep my other projects alive! Haha, all jokes aside I’ve been a busy little boy, or so I say.
I’ve held two contests for DTI in the past month, one was a yo-yo video contest where I had the entrants put the DTI company logo at the beginning of the video and the website address at the end, doing cool tricks throughout the video to win a free shirt if I picked theirs as the best. I had three entrants for the contest and picked the winner earlier this morning, so see that stuff check out http://dtistore.com/julyvidcontest/.
The other contest was for how many fans Double-Take Industries has on facebook, for each level of fans I reach I decided to give away a certain quantity of t-shirts, the ultimate underlying idea being that if I have more fans I’ll have more shirt sales thus more shirts to give away to give back to the fans that keep my company alive. As of this post I had 168 fans for DTI, just need a little under a hundred more fans to giveaway two more shirts at the 250 mark. If you aren’t already a fan of DTI on facebook you should be, I mean, who passes up the opportunity to win free stuff, especially edgy shirts? 🙂 To become a fan click on this convenient link: facebook.com/dtindustries. I was especially excited about this one because it had been a long while since I’d recorded a video for any of my projects so I recorded myself having the drawing which you’ll be able to see on the fan page.
That’s all I can think about right now, there has been a lot more but I’m trying to keep this short and sweet. Hope you’re all having a great summer!
